📻 About W7R
W7R is a special event callsign operated by local amateur radio enthusiasts to celebrate the beauty, history, and community spirit of the Portland Rose Festival — a beloved tradition since 1907.
The Rose Festival features parades, dragon boat races, floral floats, music, and community events that draw visitors from all over the world. Our radio presence brings this celebration to the airwaves and invites operators everywhere to join the fun!
📅 Operating Dates
On the air: May 30 – June 9, 2025
We’ll be operating across multiple bands and modes throughout the week, including:

HF (80m – 10m)

SSB, CW, and Digital (FT8, PSK, etc.)

VHF/UHF
On May 1st and June 7th, we will have a booth on the waterfront where we can operate in a public setting. During the period between May 30th and June 9th, we can operate for our home stations or remote locations using the W7R callsign.
